Destination Resorts Hawaii, the largest provider of luxury
vacation rentals in the prestigious Wailea and Makena resorts on Maui, is offering
the Honua Makuahine (Mother Earth) package that includes:

• five nights lodging


• a complimentary Dollar rental car


• free parking and a $250 carbon credit per booking
  
  

**Package rates begin at $1,080 based on lodging in a one bedroom condominium.
Prices vary depending on the unit size and guests can choose up to a three bedroom
vacation rental.

***Carbon credits lower the carbon footprint (or emission) of travelers. In
part, carbon emissions are blamed for global warming. To help balance the carbon
emission of a trip to Maui, DHR is purchasing a $250 carbon credit for each
Honua Makuahine vacation package purchased. The $250 credit offsets the equivalent
carbon emissions of three roundtrip flights from the West Coast to Maui. The
credit is purchased through a non-profit organization called Rainforest 2 Reef
that will plant $250 worth of trees. A carbon credit certificate will be issued
upon arrival.
